What the Future has in stored!

Funny thing I spend money buying my kids new clothes, but all of my boys around age 3 would not leave the house unless they had some sort of Super Hero costume on. Parker is now 3 and following in his brother's footsteps. I wash more Costumes for him than I do his regular clothes. I have to say though that I love my kids silly and cute imaginations. I love watching and listing to them play. So what if he is never dressed in normal clothes, it's woth it just to see what his little brain comes up with next!

Daddy's Matter Too!

Last night Kevin gave a family home evening lesson on family responsibility's. He asked the boys "what do daddy's do?" they answered: go to work and give blessings. He than asked "what do mommy's do?" they answered: cook us food, clean our clothes, teach us things, play with us, help us with our prayers, gives us baths, fixes things and my favorite Parker said I fix the pillows on the couches.

Afterwards Kevin said to "gosh I guess they don't think I do much for them." I told him Daddy's matter too!

The boys are with me all day they see everything I do for them. I think they misunderstood the question, I think they thought he meant what are Daddy's and Mommy's jobs.Kevin is a great husband and father, he does thing for them that I don't think they realize. He always makes Andrews school lunch every morning, he helps him with his homework cause I hate homework. Most of the time Kevin is giving them baths so I can get breakfast ready. He reads the scriptures to them in the morning. He gets them ready for church so I can get myself ready. He teaches them how to catch a baseball and there's always Daddy's special Star Wars toys that he pulls out and plays with them.

Kevin has always been a hands on father. I don't produce breast milk, so when ever are babies woke up in the middle of the night he would take it upon himself to feed them. I would always tell him to wake me up so he could sleep since he had to work and you know what he would always tell "when do you get a break". He always helps around the house without being asked. Just the other day while I was grocery shopping I came home to the dishes being done, the beds made and the laundry put away. He knew I was planning on doing it but did it for me. That's the one thing as father he has been teaching our boys that "it's not just Mommy's job, Daddy's do it too!" What a great example he is on what a father and husband should be. Daddy's matter too!

I know my boys see the thing he does for me as well as them, they love him and I love him and he does more than bring home a paycheck. Daddy's matter too!

VIP

Parker is our youngest, he is 3 years old. When we first found out that we were having a 3rd boy Kevin and I said he is going to be mild compared to his crazy older brothers. Well that was an understatement. Parker has always been able to hold his own against his brothers as well as instigate.

Once when he was about 18 months old we had just gotten home from church, as Kevin and I were changing our clothes we here the boys crying in the family. We went in and asked the older two why they were fighting, there reply as they were both crying "Parker did it!" We never figured out what he did to put his brothers in tears but it must of been good.

When ever he and his brothers are racing and they win he announces so proud of himself "I lose" at least he has a positive outlook on things.

Having three boys I try to stop all the potty talk that happens with boys. I prefer they say I passed gas as opposed to the other, (and I know I'm fighting a uphill battle). So when Parker passes gas he says "Oh I have a tiny poop pop".

One of the things Parker is known for is puckering up his lips for a kiss when he gets in trouble, like that's going to work. But it is hard to resist.

Up until 3 weeks ago he would say, "I not a big boy, I baby." His brothers would try and convince him otherwise and he reply "my mommy says I can be a baby." Which was true I was an enabler.

I love that while having older brothers he has taken on his ow little personality so happy, stubborn, and crazy at times. I could not imagine life with out our little Parker we love this little character so much.

How well my kids know me!

This was fun to see what my kids said about me and for the most part they were dead on. I truly feel blessed to have such sweet boys who love me and I love them!

VIP

So this weeks VIP is Hunter, so I'm just going to ramble on some of my thoughts and things about him. Again these are just things I want to remember and share when he's older.
The thing about Hunter is from the day that he was born he has always been a fighter. Born with health problems he has been through a lot in his tender years. But that is what makes Hunter this strong independent little boy whom we love so much.
Hunter says some of the funniest things, once when his little brother was needing to apologize to him, Hunter said I can't hear you, of course we told yes you can and then he proceeded to explain why he couldn't hear, you see he said "I'm a little boy with little ears and I can't hear him."
The other day he asked me for a kiss and a hug in which I replied "I love hugs and kisses" which he responded with "Oh yeah those are my favorite."
During family scriptures or family home evening Hunter always seems distracted and not listening, but then he'll come out and say things like about Ammon and the Lamanites. Bye the way Hunter is obsessed with Lamanites, he told me he wanted a gun in case he runs into a Lamanite. So apparently he is listing and knows that the Lamanites were not always the good guys in the scriptures.
We can't imagine not having him in our family after coming so close to losing him more than once. What joy he brings us and we love him with all our hearts.

Very Important Person!

My kids are always doing and saying the funniest things, things I want to remember. So I decided to do like the primary does and do a VIP (very important person) on one of my boys each week and share random thoughts about them. This is more for me than anyone else. With that said I decided to go in birth order staring with Andrew.

Andrew when he was 3 during a Sacrament talk on the Holy Ghost stood up and said very loudly "Holy Ghost I don't want no Holy Ghost".
When he was 2 he loved Mary Poppins, he used to do the dance that Dick Van Dyke did on the roof tops with the other chimney sweeps. When we took him to Disneyland for the first time Mary Poppins sat next to him on the Merry go Round. He talked about Poppins sitting next to him for the next year.
Andrew loves to talk when he went to preschool I asked him if he liked his teacher and he said "No" I asked him why and he said "she won't let me talk and all's I want to do is talk". He likes to talk so much that the other night I heard him lying in bed talking to himself.
He is such a funny boy, so stay posted for more Andrew stories to follow soon!

These are a few of the frequently asked questions by my very own Curious George. I know it is very important to always talk with my kids, I want them to always feel they can come to me and I will listen and not give them the Yea, Huh answers. I'll tell you what it's not always easy sometimes I just want to yell I don't know but I never do cause I know he's just curious and I have to get creative. Good communication with my kids is something I pray very hard for cause in the end if they feel they can't talk to you they will find someone else to listen and that person might not have the best influence. And besides Hunter is so darn cute why wouldn't I want to hear what he has to say, cause his What Happens If... never repeat themselves!
