Although the boys rode the bus to school Kevin and I met them at school so we could walk them to their classrooms! Hunter was so excited to ride the bus with Andrew!
Here's Hunter on the kindergartner playground! When we got to school he was like no big deal and ran off to play!
Here's Hunter in his class, he has such a great teacher and as we brought the kids to school today she handed each of the parents the following poem:
The First Day
I gave you a little wink & smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with him/her for 5 years now
And have been a loving guide.
But now, alas, the time has come.
To leave him/her at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may flow,
I'll love him/her as I would my own
and help him/her learn to grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly the years do pass
And I remember the day it was my turn
To take my child to class.
So, please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love him/her and take him/her in
When you leave him/her at my door.
Love, Ms. Sherwood

Cute pics! Glad they had a good first day.
What a beautiful and thoughtful poem for the teacher to give you. It brought tears to my eyes. I would feel so much more comfortable leaving my child with her because she showed compassion and empathy.
Yeah for school! And oh my goodness, in the first picture, could your second son look any more like your husband? Wow!
The teacher sounds like such a sweetheart!
Fun, fun - don't know that I could do it, but gotta let them grow up sometime. Glad they had a great first day of school!
Beautiful poem...read it with tears flowing down my cheeks thinking back in time as I took each of you to school that first day. She knows a mothers heart! So glad they had a good first day!
